Itinerary
Choose an organized trip to Kraków and be sure that during a few days you will see the most important monuments and places for which this area is famous. The program also includes free time to get to know the culinary offer and club scene of the city.
Day 1
Expedition to the Middle Ages
The first day will be devoted to getting to know the history of Kraków. The tour of the Old Town (UNESCO) will start at the Main Square, which used to be full of merchants and nowadays is filled with tourists. This largest medieval square in Europe measures 200 m by 200 m. Its size, the authentic architectural and urban layout preserved to this day, make it a unique place in the world.
The next point of the program is the Royal Route – the oldest and probably the most famous tourist route, which has been marked along the royal entrances. It will direct you towards the Wawel Hill where the Wawel Royal Castle is located. Until the 17th century the Castle was the principal residence of Polish kings in the times of our country’s greatest glory.
Day 2
Impact of World War II
In the morning you will visit Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory. Wartime fortunes a lot of people were made famous by the Steven Spielberg movie.
Then you will go to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum (UNESCO) which is located about 60 km from Kraków. The Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp (1940-1945) is known worldwide as a symbol of the Holocaust, genocide and terror. It was the largest Nazi concentration camp where over a million people died. About 90% of the victims were Jews transported there from European countries which were under occupation or remaining within the sphere of German influence.
After the war, the Polish authorities transformed the camp site into a museum dedicated to the memory of the victims of this unimaginable crime.
Day 3
On the trail of communism
Today you will travel back in time to Nowa Huta, which was founded in the 1950s as an independent town, and is now a district of Kraków. Designed from scratch, it was supposed to become the first Polish socialist city. This space delights with monumentalism, symmetry and austere charm. You will learn more about the unfulfilled communist dream of an ideal city and learn the true history of its inhabitants.
You will spend the rest of the day discovering the city’s rich restaurant selection and club scene on your own. Our recommendations are so diverse that they will satisfy every taste.
Day 4
In search of white gold
Today you will discover the unique ‘Wieliczka’ Salt Mine (UNESCO) which is located only half an hour from Kraków. It is one of the largest underground mining museums in the world. White gold, or salt, was extracted there.
There are over 2,000 chambers in the mine, to which almost 250 corridors, hollowed on 9 levels, lead. Only 2% of the entire mine is open to the public. Right from the start, you will have to climb 380 steps and a total of 800 steps throughout the trip.
From Wieliczka you can go back directly by our bus or use our transfer to the airport.
