Poland is located in the Central and Eastern Europe, on the Baltic Sea. It borders with 7 countries – Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany. Thanks to its rich history, it is at the forefront of the most visited countries in Europe. The capital Warsaw has for years become a great metropolitan city with a mixture of Polish and global culture.
In the south, Kraków is the second largest city. Kraków was honored with a lot of titles such as European Capital of Culture in 2000, UNESCO City of Literature in 2013 or European City of Sport in 2014. Kraków regularly appears in the rankings of the most popular and fashionable tourist cities in Europe. In the north we can visit Gdańsk, once a German city located on the Baltic Sea, a popular destination in the summer.
In Poland, there are also 23 various national parks, which are an ideal opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of cities. We should not forget about the rich regional cuisine, thanks to which foreign tourists fall in love with Poland.
The Green Velo East of Poland Cycling Trail is nearly 2,000 km long. The part of the route which we propose measures 543 km. It mainly runs on asphalt roads with low traffic, sometimes through forest paths and river valleys.
Velo Dunajec has already been praised many times for being the most beautiful bicycle trail in Poland. This route deserves attention due to the variety of visited places, from the cultural attractions of Zakopane, through points related to the history of the region, to unique areas in terms of nature.
The EuroVelo 10 route, marked in Poland as the R10, runs along the picturesque Polish coastline. Golden sandy beaches, the most famous resorts in Poland, rich in tourist and cultural offers, beautiful natural areas and cities with centuries-old traditions combine to provide an unforgettable cycling trip.
Where can you look at the world from the clouds? Only in the mountains of course. The Beskids, although not too high, are an exceptionally attractive and highly diversified range. They delight with nature and culture. All you need is a backpack and good shoes to hike the mountain trail. No tent or food supplies needed – mountain huts along the way provide both.
Northeast Poland provides perfect conditions for enjoying water sports. You will find everything there that enthusiasts of active recreation need: meandering rivers, wild forests, blue lakes, and above all, the striking beauty of nature virgin territories that have been saved from human interference with nature. Kraków is the former capital of Poland. The must-see attractions are the Old Town, Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory, Nowa Huta – former communist district.
