Itinerary
The tour will start right after your arrival in Kraków. Our tour guide will pick you up from the airport or train station, depending on the means of transport you will be arriving by.
Day 1
Kraków Old Town
On the first day, a guide will take you to the Kraków Old Town (UNESCO – 1978) where you will see the Barbican, St. Florian’s Gate, Main Square, St. Mary’s Church, Cloth Hall, Collegium Maius – the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University, and the Wawel Hill. You will enter the Wawel Cathedral, the place of coronation of Polish kings and their burial site.
Day 2
Salt and wine
After breakfast, we will take you to Wieliczka, where you will visit one of the oldest salt mines in the world, which entered on the first UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. You will discover beautiful underground chambers and chapels, salt lakes, salt sculptures, ancient mining tools and machines used in the past to extract and transport salt. At the end of the tour, you will have lunch in the underground restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will go on a guided tour of the local vineyard combined with wine tasting. Then you will return to the center of Kraków. In the evening, dinner with traditional Polish dishes and a folklore performance will be waiting for you.
Day 3
On the way to Wrocław
Before departure from Kraków, you will have the opportunity to walk around Kazimierz, the former Jewish district, which impresses with its history and atmosphere. You can feel the spirit of old times, learn about Jewish monuments and taste delicious Jewish dishes.
Then we will take you to the Moszna Castle, one of the most famous historic buildings in the Opole province. During lunch, which will be served in the palace restaurant, you will taste regional cuisine. Later on, there will be time for a short walk in the palace park, after which you will go to Wrocław. You will visit Ostrów Tumski, the oldest part of Wrocław, where you can meet a lamplighter who ignites and extinguishes historic gas lanterns.
Day 4
In a rock city
In the morning you will go to Świdnica, where you will visit the Church of Peace (UNESCO – 2001) erected in the 17th century after the end of the Thirty Years’ War and is nowadays one of the two largest wooden religious buildings in Europe.
Then we will take you to the Czech Republic on a guided tour of the Adršpach Rock City – huge stone formations situated by a beautiful lake. After sightseeing, you will return to Wrocław.
Day 5
A walk through Wrocław Old Town
After breakfast, a guide will take you to the Wrocław Old Town. Its center is occupied by the Market Square, in the middle of which stands the impressive Gothic Town Hall with a characteristic tower and a ceramic gable – the most beautiful example of Wrocław’s secular architecture from the late medieval period. You will enter the Baroque Aula Leopoldina and the Mathematical Tower of the Wrocław University Museum.
After the tour, you will go to the station or airport depending on the form of return transport you choose.
