Itinerary
The pilgrimage begins with the arrival in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. You can get here by plane or by your own bus. Regardless of the means of transport, we will take care of you on the spot.
Day 1
Helena Kowalska becomes Faustina
You will spend your first day on a guided tour of the Warsaw Old Town (UNESCO). You will visit, among others, the St John’s Archcathedral and the Holy Cross Church, where the relics of the Holy Cross are kept. On this day, Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, where Helena Kowalska spent the first months as a nun. Inside the church, next to the presbytery, there is a chapel of St Faustina, with her image and relics.
Day 2
Jesus, I trust in You
The highlight of the second day of the trip will be a visit to Płock. St Faustina stayed here from 1931 in the convent – today known as the Shrine of Divine Mercy. It was here, on 22 February, 1931, that she experienced the first revelation of Merciful Jesus, who instructed her to paint a picture with the inscription: ‘Jesus, I trust in You’. The Holy Mass will also be celebrated here. Moreover, there will be an opportunity to visit the historical monuments of Płock. You will return to Warsaw for dinner.
Day 3
It all started here
After breakfast, you will set off towards Świnice Warckie, where you will visit the Shrine of the Birth and Baptism of St Faustina. It was here that, two days after her birth, Helena Kowalska was baptised, and a few years later she received her first communion.
The next site on the agenda will be the Holy Mass in the Archcathedral Basilica of St Stanisław Kostka in Łódź, where in 1924 Helena Kowalska heard the words of God urging her to enter the convent. You will spend the night in Częstochowa – the spiritual capital of Poland.
Day 4
Visiting the Black Madonna
On day four of the pilgrimage, you will visit the Jasna Góra Monastery, where the miraculous painting of the Black Madonna is housed. First, you will visit the shrine with a guide, including the knight’s chamber and the treasury, and then a mass will be celebrated. The afternoon is devoted to individual prayer, during which you will be able to entrust your matters and concerns to the care of the Black Madonna.
Day 5
St Maximilian Kolbe
After packing your luggage, the coach will take you to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum (UNESCO). The Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp (1940–1945) is known worldwide as a symbol of the Holocaust, genocide and terror. It was the largest Nazi concentration camp in which over a million people died. About 90% of the victims were Jews brought here from European countries under occupation or remaining within the sphere of German influence.
Holy Mass on this day will be celebrated in the St Maximilian Kolbe Church – a concentration camp prisoner and a martyr who gave his life for another inmate. You will spend the night in Wadowice.
Day 6
The Papal Day
The day will begin with Mass in the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where there is a baptismal font where Karol Wojtyła, the future Pope John Paul II, was baptised.
The guide will show you around the John Paul II Family Home – a museum arranged in authentic interiors, where Karol Wojtyła grew up.
In the afternoon, you will head to the nearby Kalwaria Zebrzydowska – a bustling place of worship that attracts over 2 million tourists every year. The uniqueness of this place, also in terms of architecture, was confirmed by UNESCO, which in 1991 entered the Mannerist Architectural and Park Landscape Complex and Pilgrimage Park on World Heritage List.
Day 7
Holy Mass over a hundred metres underground
After breakfast, you will set off towards Wieliczka. A unique Holy Mass awaits you here – it will be celebrated over 100 metres underground in the chapel of John Paul II in the ‘Wieliczka’ Salt Mine (UNESCO). During the tour, you will have the opportunity to see unusual salt sculptures and reliefs in the Chapel of St Kinga, which were created by miners working underground. The glow of crystal chandeliers, a beautiful salt floor and details, each of which is a small work of art, complete the unique atmosphere of this place.
In the afternoon, our guide will take you for a walk around the Kraków Old Town (UNESCO), where you will see, among others, the Wawel Cathedral – the site of the coronation of Polish kings.
Day 8
Divine Mercy
The eighth day of pilgrimage will be devoted to visit the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki, where the relics of St Faustyna Kowalska are housed. One of the nuns living here will show you around the Sanctuary and will tell not only about this place, but also about the history of the life and apparitions of St Faustina, as well as on the worship of Divine Mercy all over the world.
The day will end with a mass celebrated in the chapel with the miraculous image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St Faustina.
Day 9
Departure
This is the last day of the pilgrimage. The morning mass will be held in one of Kraków’s historic churches. You can go back from the church directly with your bus or use our airport transfer. Memories of moments of reflection, emotions, days filled with prayer and devotion to Divine Mercy will stay with you forever.
