Łódź
The Łódź voivodeship is located in central Poland and its capital is Łódź, a former industrial city famous for its textile industry. In the region lie many landscape parks and nature reserves, including the Blue Springs reserve with turquoise water. The Łódź voivodeship houses the Walewice Palace and Stud, Poland’s largest stud farm for Anglo-Arabian half-breed horses. Aleksander Colonna-Walewski, son of Napoleon I and Maria Walewska, was born in this 18th-century palace. Noteworthy is also the Safari Zoo in Borysewo as well as the thermal spa and swimming pool complex in Uniejów.
