Where to go
Pomerania
The Pomeranian voivodeship is located on the Baltic Sea. Its capital is Gdańsk – a port city with a long trade tradition, charming seaside architecture, and a rich history related to the outbreak of World War II on Westerplatte or the establishment of the Solidarity trade union by Nobel laureate Lech Wałęsa. This voivodeship is a perfect place for active recreation. The wide, sandy beaches with their shifting dunes and coastal vegetation invite for long walks whereas Puck Bay is a Mecca for windsurfers. The ethnographic group of Kashubians, whose rich culture is alive in its speech and traditions, must also be mentioned.
