Where to go
Warmia-Masuria
The Warmian-Masurian voivodeship is located in north-eastern Poland and its capital is Olsztyn, which hosts the Warmian Chapter’s Castle. The region is called the “Land of a Thousand Lakes” as it has 3,000 lakes on part of which you can sail. Almost half of the province’s area is protected, offering tourists many places unchanged by civilization. In the forests of Gierłoż it is worth visiting the Wolf’s Lair – Hitler’s headquarters in 1941-1944. Another attraction is a cruise on the Elbląg Canal, which was recognized as one of the seven wonders of Poland.
