What language is mostly spoken in Poland?

The official language in Poland is Polish.
English is not a native language for Poles. But it is the second most common language learned and spoken in Poland.

What currency is used in Poland?

Where can I exchange money?

In Poland, the use of credit cards is widely accepted, particularly in major towns and tourist attractions.
ATMs, which operate 24 hours a day, offer far easier access to your money than banks. They can normally be found near such places as banks, rail stations, airports, supermarkets, town centres and other places popular with visitors.

What do I need to enter Poland?

To enter Poland, you have to present your identification documents, like your ID card or passport. And, depending on your country of origin, a stamped visa. Since 2004, Poland belongs to the EU and since 2007 belongs to the Schengen Area.

What are the average product prices?

Tips are not obligatory but are often expected, particularly in restaurants.

What is public transportation like in most large cities? How do people get around?

In the larger towns the system of communication, public transport, is well-organized. Buses and trams have access to most parts of the urban built-up areas.
Ticket for travel can be bought in ticket vending machines, which are located at stops or inside the vehicle. The ticket vending machines accept coins or cards, so we suggest that you be prepared for both methods of payment.
The SkyCash application is also useful through which we can buy tickets on the phone.

Will I be able to charge my electronic device?

Electricity in Poland is supplied at 220 to 240 volts – if your device doesn’t accept these parameters, you will need a voltage converter. Polish sockets are designed to accept two round prongs – we recommend you bring a travel adapter with you, in case your plug has a different shape.

What weather can I expect in Poland?

Poland is located in a temperate climate zone. July and August are the hottest and sunniest months of the year. This is the best time to relax by the water. In May, June, and September, the weather is good for walks, both in the city and in the mountains - the sun is not as harsh as in summer, the average temperature is around 15-20 °C. In October, November, March, and April the weather is changeable. There are both warm, sunny and cold, rainy days. Winters in Poland are getting milder, usually, the temperature ranges from -5 to + 5 °C. There are winter seasons when there is no snow in the cities, but it is enough to go to the Polish mountains to enjoy the snowy landscape.

What are shop opening hours?

Most grocery stores are open Monday to Saturday from 6:00 to 22:00. The remaining stores have shorter opening hours (they usually open around 9.00-10.00 and close around 18.00-21.00). Sundays are non-trade days. You can make emergency purchases on Sundays at gas stations and in some local shops.

Emergency numbers

112 is the pan-European emergency number that can be called from a landline or mobile phone throughout the European Union. By calling the emergency number 112, i.e. to the Emergency Notification Center, you will be redirected to the appropriate services - the police, ambulance or fire brigade.

What kind of tours do you offer?

We offer group trips, both leisure, and round trips, with our own transport, by coach or train, for school students and adults.

What is the minimum number of people in a group?

We can prepare an offer for each, even the smallest group, but we recommend travelling in groups of at least 15 people. From this number of participants, group prices apply, which are more favourable than the prices for individual tourists.

When can I expect an answer to my inquiry?

After receiving the customer's inquiry, we usually reply within 1 business day.

Do you help people who need a visa to enter Poland with the required procedure?

Unfortunately no, as a tourist office we do not mediate in the process of obtaining an entry visa to Poland.

Is there a risk that your office will go bankrupt? Can you be trusted?

We have been operating in the tourism market for 15 years.
You can check our credibility in the Central Register of Tourism Organizers and Entrepreneurs Facilitating the Purchase of Related Tourist Services (CEOTiPUNPUT) kept by the Marshal of the Małopolska Region under registration number 5286, the entry in the register No.Z / 28/2005. This means that we must have a valid insurance guarantee - for the amount of PLN 20,468.25 (€ 4,500), in Signal Iduna Polska T.U. S.A., valid from June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022.
We are a member of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, the Polish Tourist Organization, the Małopolska Tourist Organization, and the Kraków Chamber of Tourism, thanks to which we are aware of the situation on the tourist market and react quickly to its changing realities.

What should I do to guarantee a booking?

Confirmation of the booking and its guarantee is the acceptance of the terms of sale and payment of the advance.

How do I pay for a trip?

You can pay for the trip by bank transfer based on the issued invoice.

Does the trip price include insurance?

Insurance is not included in the price. 4Travel does not act as an intermediary in concluding insurance contracts for foreign tourists.

What to do when we have to cancel the trip?

Cancellation of the trip is possible at any time. The costs of cancellation, if any, are calculated individually for each client.

Do you provide transport during the trip?

We adapt to the client's expectations. We can provide a comprehensive transport service using our coach fleet. We can provide the bus to the agreed meeting point in the group's place of residence, then it is at the group's disposal during the whole itinerary, and after the trip, it takes the participants to the place of departure. Alternatively, you can come by your own bus and we will arrange transportation between accommodation and the tourist attractions. If you plan to arrive by plane, our coach can pick you up from the airport.

What is the standard of coaches and buses?

Our fleet consists of vehicles not older than 5 years, equipped with airbags and GPS modules. Our coaches meet safety and environmental standards. Vehicles are regularly serviced at authorized service stations, which guarantees their reliability and impeccable technical condition.

How many drivers will be present during the trip?

The number of drivers depends on several factors (including the length of the route). We adjust the number of drivers to the applicable regulations and the tour program.

Will the guide accompany us throughout the trip?

We recommend choosing such a solution because the guide care from the beginning to the end of the trip guarantees a peaceful and enjoyable rest. However, if there is a person in the group who wants to coordinate the trip, it is possible to resign from the pilot and use only the services of guides at the destination of the trip.

Will meals be provided during the trip? What are the standards of meals to choose from?

Usually, we offer our clients accommodation with breakfast served in the form of a buffet in the accommodation facility or in a nearby restaurant. It is also possible to order a two- or three-course lunch or dinner. We also offer dinner with a culinary workshop or live music. In the case of all-day trips, the option of lunch boxes, i.e. provisions for the road, works well.

When will we find out which hotels we will stay in and which restaurants will serve meals?

Six weeks before departure, we will send you a draft program by e-mail with the names of the facilities.

Are tips included in the tour price?

Tips are not included. Tipping is voluntary. We recommend that you take a certain amount to cover the tips throughout the tour.

What to do if my trip does not match the itinerary?

It is extremely important that you inform the tour operator immediately if you feel there is an incompatibility with the tour schedule during your trip. In this way, any errors and irregularities are immediately resolved so that participants can get the most out of their journey. If you notice any unexpected non-conformities after returning home, please write to 4Travel's travel agent. A response to the complaint should be expected within 30 days.

Do you also book flights?

No, the booking of flights is on the client's side.

What is the standard of accommodation for children and youth during school trips?

We provide accommodation for children and youth in facilities such as shared / en suite hostels, aparthotels, and hotels. In hostels, rooms are dormitory (2-8 people), often with bunk beds.

What is the standard of accommodation for teachers during a school trip?

Adults (teachers, guides, and drivers) are accommodated in 1-3-person rooms. If a given accommodation facility has rooms with bathrooms, they are allocated first.

We are a school that also provides vocational training. Can you organize vocational visits for us in line with the profile of students' education?

Yes. We have extensive experience in organizing thematic tours including visits to companies and institutions related to the group's educational profile, e.g. social, technical, ecological, and agricultural.

How do you ensure the safety of the participants of the trip?

We prepare the program in accordance with the current sanitary recommendations of the Polish government (current recommendations are available at: https://www.gov.pl/web/coronavirus). During visits in museum and guided city tours, groups are divided into smaller groups - the exact number of people in a group depends on the size of the visited facility and the possibility of maintaining a social distance there, as well as on the governmental guidelines for maintaining the sanitary regime in force at the time of the tour.
We work with accommodation facilities, tourist attractions, carriers who have received safety certificates, such as: "Małopolska - Safe Tourism" issued by the Kraków Chamber of Tourism or "Safe Venue" issued by the Polish Tourist Organization.

Will wearing masks during the trip be obligatory?

Participants will be required to follow the applicable sanitary procedures, which we will inform about before departure.

Will COVID-19 tests be required to participate in the trip?

The 4Travel tour operator as an organizer of the trip does not require a test to participate in a tourist event, however, regulations in the destination country/region or transit of the trip may impose on travellers an obligation to present a negative test result.

Will the COVID-19 vaccination be required to participate in the trip?

The 4Travel tour operator as an organizer of the trip does not require vaccination against COVID-19 to participate in a tourist event, however, regulations in the destination or transit country/region may impose on travellers an obligation to vaccinate.

The government has introduced restrictions that make it difficult or impossible for us to complete the planned trip. What's next?

If the restrictions introduced by the government on the operation of tourist facilities or transport make it impossible to carry out the trip, you can postpone the trip to a later date, free of charge. In the case of smaller restrictions, we can modify the program together so that temporarily unavailable attractions can be replaced with others.

Just before departure, one of the participants was diagnosed with COVID-19. What's next?

If a positive COVID-19 test result is documented or the participant is subject to mandatory home isolation due to contact with another infected, participation in the tour will be cancelled free of charge.
