Christmas Market in Kraków

The magic of Christmas in the Main Square

Itinerary

During three days you will have the opportunity not only to visit Kraków Old Town, but also to feel the magic of Christmas. You can reach Kraków by scheduled plane or by your coach. Regardless of the means of transport, we will take care of you on the spot.

Day 1
Welcome to Kraków

Our guide will look after you when you get to Kraków and will take you on a walking tour of the Old Town.

This walk will start at the Main Square. This largest medieval square in Europe is 200 m by 200 m. Just like in the past, during the fair it is filled with stalls for merchants.

Then you will walk along the Royal Route – the oldest and probably the most famous tourist route, which has been marked along the route of the royal entrances. You will reach the Wawel Hill where the Royal Castle is located, which until the 17th century was the primary residence of Polish kings in the times of our country’s greatest glory.

Day 2
Taste of Christmas

You will spend this day at the Christmas Market. Every year over a hundred craftsmen sell hand-painted baubles, Christmas tree decorations, jewelry, ceramics, as well as other  artisan products made from wood, wool, cloth or glass. You can also watch blacksmithing demonstrations in a specially prepared forge.

There will also be an opportunity to taste Christmas dishes of Polish, German, Lithuanian, Dutch, Ukrainian and Slovak cuisine. Among the delicacies you will find baked chestnuts, grilled specialties, dumplings, oscypek or Polish hot mulled wine. Those with sweet tooth will enjoy roasted nuts and fruit in caramel, chocolate and marzipan products, Christmas gingerbread cookies and much more. You will definitely not leave this place with an empty stomach and empty-handed.

Day 3
Charm of the Nativity Scenes

During a guided walk you will discover Kraków Nativity Scenes. These are slender, portable, multi-level, richly decorated constructions combining elements of Kraków architecture and the scene of the birth of Jesus. Due to their unique nature, they have been inscribed on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage.

Before dinner, we will invite you to a culinary workshop during which you will learn how to make pierogi (dumplings) – a traditional Polish Christmas dish.

After the festive meal, you can go back directly to your bus or use our transfer to the airport.
