Itinerary

The tour begins right after arriving in Warsaw. Our tour guide will pick you up from the airport or train station, depending on the means of transport you will be travelling by.

Day 1
Warsaw... for a good start

The tour will start  with a guided walk around the Warsaw Old Town (UNESCO – 1980). You will see the Old Town Square with the statue of the Mermaid – the symbol of Warsaw, St. John’s Archcathedral, Castle Square with the Column of King Sigismund III Vasa. You will enter the Royal Castle and walk along the Royal Route, the most famous promenade in the capital. During the walk you will also see the Presidential Palace and the Church of the Holy Cross where the urn with the heart of the famous composer Fryderyk Chopin is placed.

Day 2
Gothic, Teutonic Knights and the city of freedom

After breakfast, we will take you to Malbork to visit the Castle of the Teutonic Order (UNESCO – 1997), the largest medieval fortress in Europe. This castle, converted into a museum, now houses collections of medieval art and one of the largest amber collections in the world. There are, among others, the High Castle, the Middle Castle and the Grand Masters` Palace to see.

After sightseeing, you will be transferred to your hotel in Gdańsk and taken for an evening walk around this city of amber.

Day 3
In the land of amber

You will start your day with a guided walk around the Gdańsk Main Town. You will walk along the Royal Route, you will see the Artus Court, Neptune’s Fountain, Granary Island, the Crane – the largest port crane in medieval Europe, picturesque St. Mary’s Street and St. Mary’s Church – the third largest brick Gothic church in the world.

In the afternoon, our guide will take you to the park and Oliwa Cathedral and you will listen to an organ concert. Then you will travel to Sopot, a seaside resort founded by a Napoleonic army doctor, Jean-Georges Haffner. You will walk along the Sopot Pier, the longest wooden pier in Europe. After the walk, you will return to Gdańsk.

Day 4
In the city of Nicolaus Copernicus

After breakfast, you will travel to Toruń where Nicolaus Copernicus was born. You will visit the Old Town (UNESCO – 1997) founded in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights. You will see the Gothic Old Town Hall, the Leaning Tower and the ruins of the Teutonic Castle. You will enter the House of Nicolaus Copernicus – a tenement house that now houses a museum devoted to the life and work of the great astronomer.

It is impossible to leave Toruń without tasting its greatest specialty – gingerbread. That is why it is also worth visiting the Living Museum of Gingerbread and taking part in an interactive show.

After such a tasty end of the day, we will take you to Poznań where you will spend the night.

Day 5
On the way to the Polish Venice

In the morning you will visit the Poznan Old Town with a guide. You will enter the Poznań Fara which is one of the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture in Poland. You will see the Renaissance Town Hall, which every day at noon attracts crowds of tourists who want to see the symbol of Poznań – two bronze billy goats butting their heads. There will also be an opportunity to taste St. Martin’s Croissants filled with white poppy-seed.

Then you will go to Wrocław. The tour around the capital of Lower Silesia will start from Ostrów Tumski, the oldest part of the city. You will also discover the Old Town, its Market Square with the Gothic Town Hall and the pillory. You will enter the baroque Aula Leopoldina and the Mathematical Tower of the Wrocław University Museum.

Day 6
History and remembrance

It is time for a meeting with the past. After breakfast, you will travel to Oświęcim. With a guide you will visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum (UNESCO – 1979), the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, which has become a symbol of war, genocide and the Holocaust. It covers the area of ​​two parts of the camp: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II – Birkenau.

After the visit you will go to Kraków where a night tour of the Old Town (UNESCO – 1978) is planned for you. At night the city has a completely different look. While strolling through the charming streets you will enjoy the unforgettable experience. The Barbican and the Florian Gate, the Main Square with the Cloth Hall and the former Jewish quarter – Kazimierz, where we have planned a dinner with live klezmer music, are waiting for you.

Day 7
In the land of white gold

In the morning our guide will take you to the ‘Wieliczka’ Salt Mine (UNESCO – 1978), one of the oldest salt mines in the world. You will discover beautiful underground chambers and chapels, salt lakes, salt sculptures, ancient mining tools and machines used in the past to extract and transport salt.

In the afternoon you will have time to discover the charms of magical Kraków on your own. We suggest going to the university district to see the Collegium Maius, the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University, and to learn about the history of one of the oldest universities in Europe.

Day 8
In the footsteps of highlanders and robbers

After breakfast, you will go on an unforgettable rafting trip down the Dunajec gorge, during which you will discover the stunning landscape of the Pieniny Mountains and feel the atmosphere of old traditions while listening to the colorful stories of raftsmen. Then our coach will take you to Zakopane – Poland’s capital of winter sports. You will be impressed with the town’s picturesque location at the foot of the majestic Tatra Mountains. It is an excellent starting point for visiting interesting places in the entire Podhale region.

Before you return to Kraków, you will taste regional dishes during a dinner with live folk music.

Day 9
Visiting the kings

On the last day we will take you on a journey through royal Kraków. You will visit the Wawel Royal Castle, which is a site of exceptional importance for Polish tradition and identity. It is the most important and prestigious residence of Polish rulers.

The Gothic Cathedral, which is located there, is also particularly valuable for Poland. The crypts underneath the Cathedral are the burial site of Polish kings, princes and national heroes.

After the tour our driver will take you to the station or airport, depending on your needs.
