Itinerary

Our tour guide, who will take care of you for the entire stay until departure, will be waiting for you at the airport or at the station, depending on the chosen mode of transport. A private driver with a comfortable, modern bus will be at your disposal as well. 

Day 1
Good morning, Gdańsk!

You will be greeted with refreshing welcome drinks and canapés upon arrival at the hotel. A welcome reception will take place on a terrace with a panoramic view of a city. Then the guide will take you on a 4-hour city walk including the most important monuments of the Main Town, the historic centre. You will see the Royal Route, colourful tenement houses, the monumental St. Mary’s Basilica, and the mediaeval Crane, the landmark of the city. Mariacka Street, also known as the ‘Amber Avenue’ will be visited as well. What is more, you will learn how drastically the look of this part of Gdańsk has changed since World War II.

In the evening there will be the time for the first meeting with traditional Polish cuisine, rich in various flavours. Dinner will be arranged in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2
In the days of communism

On this day, you will move back in time to a completely different era. A historic bus will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the Imperial Shipyard. You will get to know what the work of the shipyard worker looked like. The highlight of the visit will be climbing several dozen stairs to the observation deck of the historic shipyard crane. Then you will go to Góra Gradowa, where a spectacular view of the city can be admired. 

After a traditional lunch in one of Gdańsk’s many milk bars, you will visit the European Solidarity Centre. Here the shipyard workers initiated changes that were so important for the whole of Europe. You will learn how these events happened and what their consequences were.

Day 3
A miracle of hydraulic engineering

After breakfast, you will go to the Teutonic Castle in Malbork, the largest Gothic fortress in Europe, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Probably up to 15 million bricks were used for its construction. During the guided tour, you will go inside and listen to the extraordinary history of its former inhabitants.

After a short break, the driver will take you to the Elbląg Canal, which is one of the greatest attractions of the region. The two-hour cruise will start and end in Buczyniec. During the trip, the ship will cover the famous incline planes twice. This is a great opportunity to admire the principles of operation of hydrotechnical devices.

The day will end with a gala dinner at the historic brewery with local beer tastings.

Day 4
High above the ground

After packing your luggage, it’s time to leave the rooms. However, this is not the end of our adventure. On the last day you will see the city from the 32nd floor. For this purpose, after breakfast you will go to the picturesque district of Gdańsk called Oliwa to the viewing floor of the Olivia Star skyscraper. The Bay of Gdańsk looks impressive from a height of 130 metres.

In Oliwa Park you will learn, among others, what connected the writer Günter Grass with this place, and you will listen to the famous 20-minute organ concert in the Oliwa Cathedral.
